I’m giving Powell Garage Doors 3 stars because there were both positives and negatives to my experience.The good: they had quick availability, and Chris was professional and quickly diagnosed the issue with my garage door. He determined that both springs on my two-car garage door needed to be replaced, and he quoted me $429 for parts and labor. I approved the repair, and the work was completed as expected.The disappointing part came when it was time to pay. After the repair was finished, Chris asked whether I was paying with cash or a credit card. When I said credit card, he informed me there would be an additional 2.7% processing fee. I believe this should be disclosed upfront before any work begins, not after the job is complete. For a company charging hundreds of dollars for repairs, I also think credit card processing fees should be included in the price rather than passed on to the customer.If you decide to use Powell Garage Doors, be aware that you’ll either want to have cash available or be prepared to pay the extra 2.7% if using a credit card.
