They had great pricing compared to the other companies I contacted, and the process was straightforward.One thing to know is that they only provide quotes over the phone, so I didn’t receive a written estimate beforehand. They explained that once they come out, they’ll look everything over and let you know if they notice any other problems that need attention.What I really appreciated was that there was no upselling. I was looking to have both garage door springs replaced, and they kept things straightforward without trying to sell me additional repairs or parts I didn’t need.Overall, I had a good experience with Thompson’s Garage Doors. Great pricing, straightforward service, and no pressure to add unnecessary work. I would definitely use them again for future garage door repairs.

Miguel and his trainee just replaced the springs on my garage door (purchased the door and related installation from Thompson a number of years ago, too). Miguel was professional, kind and knowledgeable, and he explained things in a way I could understand. They worked quickly and did a great job! I would recommend Miguel and Thompson Garage Doors to anyone needing the kind of services they offer!

Terrible Garage Door Company!Overpriced and retail driven company geared towards the unsuspecting consumer who doesn’t know any better. Do Not Use!Our company recently requested a bid from this vendor for a repair project. We are a repeat customer over many years too! This particular property owner required multiple bids and ultimately selected a different contractor at a far cheaper price.Shortly afterward, an employee of the company posted a 1-star review of our business despite not being a customer, tenant, owner, or client of our company.We value professional vendor relationships and were disappointed to see a business disagreement appear to spill over into online reviews. Property owners routinely compare pricing and select vendors based on their own criteria, and contractors will not win every project.We encourage businesses to focus on professional communication and customer service rather than online disputes.We strongly recommend searching for a different garage door company.Beware of Julie.

To Whom It May Concern,I am paying the $150 invoice today because I want to close this matter, but I also want to explain why this experience has left me with a very negative impression of your company.Our company had submitted our 90-day notice to vacate a commercial property, and my employer asked me to obtain an estimate to replace two damaged panels on our roll-up door. Because I frequently see Thompson Garage Door signs around town, your company was the first one I called.During that phone call, I simply provided our information, explained that we needed an estimate, and was told our information would be sent to the commercial department. I never specifically scheduled a service appointment, and at no point was I told there would be a $150 estimate or trip charge. Within about an hour, someone arrived, spent less than five minutes taking measurements, and later emailed us an estimate for $6,585.62.Nearly two months later, we unexpectedly received a bill for $150.The issue is not the amount itself. The issue is that the fee was never disclosed before someone was dispatched. If I had been told there would be a charge for an estimate, I could have discussed it with my employer and decided whether to proceed.Our company is also a service business. We provide free estimates throughout the Reno-Sparks area, even when that requires technicians to enter crawl spaces or attics. I understand that every business has different policies, but customers should always be informed of any charges before work—or even an estimate—is performed.When Julie called my personal cell phone regarding the invoice, I tried to explain why I believed the charge was unfair. Rather than addressing my concerns, the conversation became unpleasant. I asked to speak with the owner but was instead transferred to Creighton. His response was simply that if we paid the $150, it would be credited back if we proceeded with the repair. While I appreciate that option, it did not address my concern that the fee had never been disclosed in the first place.More recently, our landlord completed a walkthrough and reminded us that the door still needed to be repaired. I mentioned that we had obtained an estimate but were surprised by how expensive it was. He referred us to another commercial garage door company, which quoted us $3,525 to replace the door with insulation—nearly half of your estimate.Between the undisclosed $150 charge, the way my concerns were handled, and the significant price difference, we will hire the other company.I hope you'll consider this feedback. Charging for estimates is your business decision, but customers deserve to know about those charges before a technician is dispatched. I came into the office to place a deposit & I was offered a cancelled appointment install date the same week.Wow!
