Jason and his crew really helped us out and did a beautiful job while they were at it! I recommend JPF Welding LLC if you are looking for integrity, skill and a job well done.Last year a speeding driver lost control and demolished our front gate and took out one of the rock pillars. We were left with a big mess and needed a whole new entrance gate.We hired a welding contractor with whom we had worked with before and he was very excited to work on our project, telling us he would get it done right away. Evidently he was just excited to cheat us out of our money.After 10 months and a lot of lies, he never did more than put in a post, leave a big hole by the driveway and drop off some bits and pieces of equipment we can't even use. We found out later he dissolved his business a week after he took our money!By the time I met Jason I was very stressed about being swindled by someone we trusted and out a great deal of money. I wished we had found Jason first and talked with him from the beginning.Our budget for a secure gate was limited due to the cheating contractor, but Jason said he could help us out and get us a secure gate put together.What I really appreciated was his creativity and willingness to work with us; Jason handled the project with transparency and empathy, walking me through every step of the process.He used a recycled gate to save us on cost and a new, quality mechanism to ensure durability and functionality. He even put a custom design on the gate to make it our own.We are happy with the outcome and it is good to know he stands behind his work.There are a lot of unscrupulous and unreliable people operating businesses here on the Big Island.It was refreshing to work with someone who operates their business in a professional and honest manner...If anyone is considering a gate or welding project, start with JPF Welding, LLC and don't waste your time with anyone else!

I first reached out to Jason and JPF Welding about two years ago while planning a large rock wall build. I had a pretty detailed custom gate design in mind that I had adapted from a book on Japanese block prints, and I needed someone to work with me to fabricate it. From the very beginning, Jason and his entire team have been nothing short of amazing.Jason is a true craftsman, patient and meticulous. He worked closely with me through multiple redesigns (completely on my end!) without a single complaint. My design involved thousands of pierces/cuts on the plasma cutter, significantly more than his normal jobs, and when we needed to scale it up slightly to avoid warping, Jason didn’t hesitate to make it happen. He even absorbed the cost of the wasted aluminum plate material rather than charging me extra, which really speaks to his integrity and commitment to quality. The finished product is incredible, exactly what I envisioned, and then some. You can tell Jason and his crew genuinely cares about making sure your expectations are met.One piece of advice for anyone thinking about getting a gate or work done with JPF Welding; be patient and have aloha. Jason and his team are not a giant corporate operation cranking out prefab bolt-together HomeDepot gates. They are one of the few serious custom gate builders on the east side (maybe the entire island), and each piece they make is one of a kind. Like any small Hawaiʻi business, they are navigating real-world challenges right now like rising material costs (just the price for welding gas is going bonkers!), shipping delays, general excise taxes, and more while still delivering exceptional work.If you don’t hear back right away, they are probably out and about doing what they do best, building beautiful gates. We are so happy with our beautiful custom palm gate made of aluminum. I was having trouble finding someone to come to South Kona to build and install a gate for our property, but luckily, I found Jason from JPF Welding LLC. He answered the phone on my first try and was very professional, friendly, and very helpful. He had several nice designs to choose from, but we already had our hearts set on a palm design that we provided, and he built it better than expected. Jason accommodated our schedule so we could be present during the installation. Jason kept us informed of the progress by sending us photos during the manufacturing of the gate. He made us feel like part of the family. His crew was also friendly, polite, and very professional. My wife can’t stop looking at her gate. We are very thankful to Jason. Jason did an excellent job fabricating and installing our custom gate. My wife changed her mind on the design which wasn’t a problem for JPF. Jason is an exceptional craftsman.
